Coed Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Track · Track and Field Spring Practice/Parent Information

Track & Field season is just around the corner! We are excited to finally get started. Below you’ll find all the important information about our upcoming season, including the link to join our group on the BAND app, our expected practice schedule, the link to our Meet Results & Region/State Rankings, and information about our individual event coaches.

BAND APP: This year our preferred method of inter-team communication is the BAND app. Managing and communicating with a Track & Field team is a complex task. There are many smaller groups within our larger team, each with different practice times, spaces, and competition needs. BAND allows us coaches to effectively communicate with our individual groups, or the larger team as necessary. It also allows us to post links, surveys, schedules, and to have our athletes ask or answer questions. Parents are also welcome to join the BAND app so they can stay in the loop. Here is the QR code to join the group.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE: For the next two weeks we are meeting after school on A-days (Distance & Throws: 1:30pm, Sprints/Jumps/Hurdles: 3:00pm), and on Wednesdays at 12:00pm. With the addition of Boy’s and Girl’s Lacrosse as sponsored sports this year, we have run into complications with scheduling practice spaces. Due to safety concerns, the track will be unavailable for use during Lacrosse Practices each day (1:15-3:00p). Event groups using the Track space will have to wait until 3:00pm to practice. However, not every group needs to use the Track. We also have several coaches that aren’t working in the school. Once in season, Lacrosse and Soccer will also have scheduled games, which changes the availability of the track space. To best work with our coaches schedules as well as our space limitations, different event groups might meet at different times each day.

Starting FEBRUARY 22nd, we will be practicing 5 days a week. Our expected schedule at that point is subject to change, but we anticipate the following:

Monday:

Sprints/Jumps/Hurdles – 2:30pm (on the grass outside the athletic hallway)
Throwers – 1:30pm (weight room)
Distance – 1:30pm (on the grass outside the athletic hallway)
