Cedar Valley Offseason Weights Program

Cedar Valley Football is moving to 5A!!! What an exciting time to be an Aviator! As we move up in classification and competition we need to increase our physical preparation to meet these new challenges. Our coaches have developed a strength and conditioning program that requires 4 days of lifting so our athletes will be able to meet the physical demands we will face next season.

To accommodate the 4 days of lifting, beginning 3rd term, January 4th 2021, we are asking athletes and parents to commit to 2 before school workouts per week. If your athlete is in the A day football class, he will attend early morning weights on B days. If your athlete is in the B day football class, he will attend early morning weights on A days.  The workouts are from 6:15 to 7:15am. The athletes will lift, shower, and then go eat free school breakfast as a team. Beginning in the school year 2021-2022, this early morning lifting will be a scheduled class to receive credit towards graduation. 

Early morning weights are not required, but are highly recommended. The athletes that commit to this program will be physically ahead of those that do not. While this doesn’t guarantee playing time, it can only benefit you to get bigger, faster, stronger, while showing coaches your  commitment to the program and self improvement. If an athlete is currently participating in a winter or spring sport, he should focus on that sport first.  If you have questions contact Coach Zabriskie, Rykert or Dunn.
