Aviators News · X-Country Schedule 10/7-10/11

Hello X-Country Runners and Parents,
Our biggest week of the season is finally here– our Region 10 Championship Meet is this Friday!! We have been training for this race all year, and it will be awesome to see all of our hard work and grit pay off on race day! Since the championship meet is this Friday, this week we will be tapering for the race. In the running world, it is common to say the week of your goal race that “the hay is in the barn”, meaning all of the hard work is done. We are prepared. Time to taper and be sharp and full of energy for Friday. Here is the schedule for the week–
Monday 10/07: Practice 2:45. 45 minute run and strides
Tuesday 10/08: Practice 2:45, mini speed session to shakeout legs
Wednesday 10/09: Practice 2:45, 45 minute run
Thursday 10/10: Practiced 2:45, Super easy pre-race shake out run
Friday 10/11: Region 10 Championship race at Cottonwood Complex. Race starts at 10:00. Bus leaves at 8:00 am.
This is a big week for us, Aviators. We have worked so hard for this and are more than prepared. Our goal is for both of our teams to qualify for the UHSAA State Championship Meet on October 23rd. I completely believe in you. Time to taper and be smart about this week, trust our training, and BRING IT on Friday. See you tomorrow at practice!
